Rustic Sourdough Bread - King Arthur

    2.5 c
  • lukewarm water (or whey)
    3/4 c
  • salt
    1.25 tsp
  • sourdough starter
    1/2 c
  • yeast
    1/2 tbsp

    Add sourdough starter and lukewarm water and yeast to bread machine .
    sourdough starter: 1/2 c, lukewarm water: 3/4 c (or whey), yeast: 1/2 tbsp

    Top with salt and flour .
    salt: 1.25 tsp, flour: 2.5 c

    Use dough cycle and allow to rise until doubled, about ⏱️ 90 minutes .

    Gently form dough into a ball.

    Allow to rest for ⏱️ 15 minutes .

    Shape into a circle or elongated loaf.

    Cover dough and let rise on parchment-covered baking sheet about ⏱️ 60 minutes .

    Spray loaf with water and dust with flour. Make 2-4 diagonal slashes with lame.
